Apartment in Barcelona
Interior design, decoration and art advisory for a young couple in the Catalan capital
Photos by Pol Viladoms
After several years in a rented house far from city centre, Alex & Toni decided to finally buy a home in a new development in the heart of Barcelona. The complex, a renovated factory that had fallen to ruin, presented a beautiful industrial look with exposed bricks and imposing metallic elements.
For their home, they had a clear yet powerful goal: we set out to craft a space that felt warm and inviting while being comfortable for everyday use and reflected their character.
Living room
With its brick wall and tall ceilings, the living room was undoubtedly one of the key areas of the apartment, but it wasn’t without challenges. Located somewhat far from the main windows of the house, it was crucial to add bright and colourful pieces to maximise the available light.
To create a calm and welcoming environment from every angle we chose a generous and a comfortable sofa that wraps around the space, inviting you to relax. The selections of textiles adds warmth, and the art is colourful but serene, creating a calming space.

Main bedroom
For the main bedroom, we looked to maintain a clean look, avoiding to overcrowd the space. We used wood and rattan in the bed frame to add a touch of warmth, and the carefully selected art and colourful textiles gave the room character and uniqueness.

For the terrace, we went with a modern, fresh look with lightweight furniture that maximises the available space while keeping it airy. We looked for pieces with a simple and sleek estructural design, keeping the space consistent through the use of nylon string on both the sofa and the armchair.

Terrace
The result is a warm, colourful and welcoming space where the existing materials are enhanced and respected through the use of uncomplicated furniture with honest, clean shapes. Character is added through tasteful textiles, beautiful accessories and carefully selected pieces of art and decoration.
